Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Is King’ Makes No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Chart | Billboard News

(upbeat music) – Jesus is king but today Kanye West might feel
he deserves that title as his album by that same name is launching at the top
of the Billboard 200, and it’s his ninth
consecutive album to do so. ♪ Fill me up ♪ ♪ When I think of the goodness of Jesus ♪ – [Tetris] Jesus is King
was released on October 25th and earned 264,000 equivalent
album units in the U.S. in the week ending October 31st
according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 109,000 were in album sales while the rest were powered
largely by streaming activity. And speaking of those
nine number one albums, West ties Eminem for the most
consecutive number one debuts. Among all acts Jay-Z has the
