Sing along Church Hymns- The Lord’s my Shepherd

Hello, for those of you who don’t know me
my name’s Monique Churchill. And I was er thinking, maybe some of you are
in the same position I am, as we know the Catholic church and some other churches have
closed due to the er quarantine rules about the coronavirus and er as a result my church
choir wasn’t able to have rehearsals so I thought we could all get together and er listen
to Youtube and give a go of singing a good old fashioned church hymn together. And praise our beautiful God and um. The hymn I’ve chosen for us today is The Lord’s
my Shepherd it’s the Crimond one. So for those of you who are from the Uniting
Church it’s in your together in song book er hymn number 10. For those of you in the Catholic Church it’s
in your Catholic Worship book number 2 the hymn number 620. Now for those of you who don’t have a hymn
book at all I’ll try to work out a way to be able to er to put down the lyrics so that
way they can come up on the video and you can sing along. Er for those of you who ah playing a musical
instrument like a guitar or whatever, whatever kind of instrument um it’s in the key of F
Major so um the only chords you’ve got is an F chord, a Dminor chord, a G chord and
a C chord, or maybe a Bb, ah you’ll work it out. Who cares, you just give it a go we’re going
to um give a go of singing this beautiful hymn all about how wonderful wonderful wonderful
our awesome God is and He is our Shepherd. And er especially in tough times we have to
hold on to Him and we just have to breathe. So I figure well if we’re holding on to Him
and we’re doing all this breathing we may as well do some singing too. Ok so the instrument I’m going to be playing
is an electronic organ. And because in my Church at um St Andrew’s
in Berwick er we have a pipe organ I’ve put the pipe organ sound on because you know I
really miss it yeah. I really missed my Church rehearsal um for
choir. So let’s all have lots of fun er singing to
our beautiful God. And don’t worry if you can’t sing properly
you know just let out a joyful noise. Doesn’t matter if you sound like a sqwarking
chicken or a out of tune fog horn. I know there’s been times when I sing like
that. So yeah you just sing along ok. God doesn’t care what you sound like. Alrighty so her we go, come on Jesus, let’s
party. Here we go. So I’ll just play a little introduction. Wrong pedal there, my fault. The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want. He makes me down to lie. In pasture’s green, He leadeth me, The quiet
waters by. My soul He doth restore again. And me to walk doth make. WIthin in the paths of righteousness. Even for His own name’s sake. Yea though I walk in death’s dark vale, yet
will I fear no ill, for thou art with me, and thy rod and staff my comfort still. My table thou hast furnished, in pressence
of my foes. My head thou dost with oil anoint, and my
cup overflows. Goodness and mercy all my life, shall surely
follow me. And in God’s house, forever more, my dwelling
place shall be. Praise Jesus! What an awesome good fun! So let me know ah whether the volume was ok
on the organ or the voice or if you need the which needs to go up or down. Ah also send me your suggestions about what
Church hymn you might like us to sing next. Um thinking next time we might give a go of
Amazing grace, sound good, ok. So don’t forget to like and subscribe. And as always, God bless.
