Vivian Lord

I’m Vivian Lord, and I have been a faculty
member with the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology since 1994. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology
from the University of Georgia and my doctorate, my PhD, in Psychology from NC State. My main areas of interest in research are
in the areas of police procedures, particularly surrounding individuals with mental illness
and the area we call “suicide by cop,” individuals who attempt to induce officers
to kill them. Other areas of research include mediation
and cold-case investigations. I am in phase-retirement so I teach two courses
in the Fall, and those two courses are Mediation and Conflict Resolution, and Interviewing
in Criminal Justice.
